Jessica's musical journey exemplifies her adaptability and determination. Beginning formal training at age five, she soon realized that the traditional approach was not the best fit for her. After completing her Grade 1 RCM exam in 1988, she pursued a self-directed path, teaching herself classical piano. Her dedication has led her to the current preparation for her RCM Grade 9 exam.
After her self-directed studies, Jessica reengaged with formal education to further her knowledge. From 2008 to 2010, she studied music theory at the RCM under the guidance of Peteris Zarins and Janet Lopinski. Additionally, she expanded her musical expertise by completing a one-year guitar course at RCM from 2008 to 2009.
Jessica joined the studio in 2008 as a theory specialist but later took a hiatus to pursue a career transition. In addition to her teaching background, she is a Registered Nurse and completed her MBA at Carleton University in August 2024.
When not immersed in music, Jessica finds joy in nurturing plants, mastering video games (she's a Tetris Master), indulging in crafts, and tackling DIY projects.
With her schedule soon opening up, Jessica is gearing up to welcome new students. Keep an eye out for more details.
